ending = teh suck...

sorta...

It does play to that sense of anticipation that somebody in Tony's position must feel, where everybody is a possible hit man, and every moment may be the last one.

but...

ehh...

I don't follow the show much and did not know they were doing a movie. The episode sucked balls.

A friend read what was supposedly a leaked outline/screenplay for the last episode and was under the impression that everyone would die.

Don't follow the show much anymore either, but I knew they were coming out with a movie, so I figured that would be the way they ended it, piss you off with a final episode, but by the time the movie came out, they hope you go to it, so you know how it all ends....

I was under the impression that the guy playing Tony Soprano would not be continuing his role and there was no movie.

This is true. Gandolfini at this time is saying no, he's done playing Tony, and that he doesn't want to participate, but we shall see the strength of his convictions when they're throwing movie money at him and not TV money. If Clooney can get $20M for a movie that no one knows the character, you can damn well bet Gandolfini can expect at least that much for a character that's been around for 10 years.

Now, after I have had a second to cool down, I understand the ending a little more. Like he said "you never see it coming". Then the screen turns black. Tony is dead. That is how I think it is.

The whole Christopher and the cat thing was awesome though.
