Got a new vehicle, some goodies arrived already

Postby Nigel » Fri Feb 02, 2007 6:48 pm

well,

I decided to get a new truck. So, I got myself an '03 S-Dime ext. Cab. It has the 4.3 in it, and as soon as I have the extra funds I plan on upping it a little performance wise. But to start, I ordered a 3" lowering kit for it on wednesday and picked it up from the local shop today (2 day delivery is awesome). So, being the nice guy I am, here are some pics.

Of the lowering kit that is. Still need to get some pics of the new truck though.

Enjoy!

Derek, I'll try not to forget, that's what I plan on doing, but with it snowing all the time, and not having my own garage, it's hard to get some before pics off. Plus work takes up a lot of time.

rthompson, It's the midnight blue or whatever they call it. The really dark blue anyway. And yes the 4.3 is a good motor, but, I'd like to give it a little more. I've already started looking into the K&N FIPK air intake, a gibson catback exhaust and gibson headers. I'm also going to be looking at a programmer for it. I figure that doing those upgrades should be good for me.

Just ordered a horizontal billet grill for it today. Grill should be in monday. Can't wait. I just need to get some spring clamps then next time I go home I'll be installing the lowering the truck and installing the grill. I am happy.

Was thinking of it, depends on what all I can afford.

i've got a 99 gmc jimmy with the same 4.3

it goes alright for what it is, but it's not anything special.

check out www.s10forum.com you'll find tons of useful info on there.

the only good thing about the programmers you can buy are that you can change tire sized for correct speedo reading and remove the speed limiter.

tb spacers are also useless on the newer vortec engines.

look into a transgo shift kit with a vette servo if it's got a 4L60E(automatic).

also, just inside your TB there's a plate that restricts flow. remove it and get free throttle response. lots of people remove the clutch fan and switch to ford taurus E-fans and also gain a little gas mileage and throttle response.

www.summitracing.com has a nice line of products you should check out.

the dynomax 2.5" catback exhaust is a cheap and nice upgrade

thanx for the info. I was looking at a Gibson Cat back exhaust and possibly gibson headers as well. What I'm finding is that htis truck doesn't have much mid range power (I have a feeling due to gearing or programming perhaps) but otherwise I am very satisfied with the truck. I got my billet grill in today. Should get pics of it installed tommorow.
